On the 1860 census, J. Richard Perkins, lists his place of birth as Missouri, which presumed to be Marble Hill. This census also shows that he owns a farm in Lawrence Township of Bollinger County. He lists his occupation as a farmer and has a realestate (farm) that is worth about $2000 and personal property worth about $1000. The location of that farm is not known at this time or how he aquired the property. Presumably this farm had been in the family and was aquired from his father.
