John Peterson, son of John Peterson, was born before 1673. He married Martha Batte, and they had at least one child: Batte Peterson. John died in 1731[1] in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.[2]
John Peterson was the father of Anne Peterson, Batte Peterson, John Peterson, and Judith Peterson, who are named in his will, written March 1, 1731; "Proved and Recorded Jan 24, 1732 Isle of Wight Co Va. (also Page 113 17th Century Isle of Wight by Boddie)."[3]
Southside Virginian says the 1731 will of John Peterson mentions daughter Anne Thweatt and also says Anne's sister Judith married a Thweatt. Also from Southside Virginian:
The name Batte also appears. In the opinion of some researchers, the mother of Anne, and the wife of John Peterson, d. 1731 was a member of the Batte family who is as yet unidentified.
