About John Jr Pierce
Had a fine voice and was leader of church choir for many years. His trade was that of a ship-joiner and cabinet-maker. The cause of his death was small-pox. He served as constable, 1742. With the leading men of the church, he appears to have been engaged in a controversy with the Rev. Mr. Bowman who became very obstinate in his old age. Eventually, Mr. Bowman was dismissed from his pastoral connection.
Burial, Old North Burying Ground, Upham's Corner, Dorchester.
