Frances was born in Weymouth on 20 Apr 1730 to Ephriam and Frances (Orcutt) Burrell.[1]

She married John Porter who was born at Weymouth, 8 Sept. 1729 and died there 15 Jan. 1769. He was called John Porter, 3d. He married (1) at Weymouth, 20 Mar. 1754, Mary or Martha Bates, daughter of Joshua and Martha (Orcutt) Bates, born at Weymouth, 26 Sept. 1724. The record of her birth calls her Mary, and her intention calls her Martha. Probably Martha was her name. John Porter, 3d, entered his intention (2) at Weymouth, 22 May, 1762, with Frances Burrell, daughter of Ephraim and Frances (Orcutt) Burrell, born at Weymouth, 20 Apr. 1730. JohnPorter was appointed administrator of his father's estate, 23 Oct. 1767. His brothers William Porter and Isaac Porter were appointed administrators de bonis non, 3 Feb. 1769. The Judge of Probate ordered that Frances Porter, widow of JohnPorter, Jr., have her dower set off out of the estate of her late husband in the real estate of his father John Porter, deceased, 31 Aug. 1768. (Suffolk Probate, 68: 365.)[2]
