"John Pratt, Jr., son of John Pratt, (Smith) . . . resided in that section of the town called Pantapang, and his name appears in the list of inhabitants of the Second Society, who came to an agreement September 18, 1722, in regard to the location of the Meeting-House. Said list of inhabitants includes thirty-four names of which fifteen are Pratt's, which indicates that that was the name more prevalent than any other at that time within the limits of the Second Society or Pantapang . . . His will was presented to the Court of Probate in Guilford, with an inventory of his estate, amounting to £324 1s. 8d., September 10, 1744."[1]
