Pratt was identified as one of ten Doddridge County Civil War veterans who traveled to Gettysburg in June 1913 to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. However, until moving to Doddridge sometime between 1900 and 1910, he had lived his entire life in Tyler County.
