In his will, John Purchas calls himself a tanner of Much Waltham, Essex. This will was dated March 27, 1585, and includes the following bequest: "and the other £10 I give to Mary, my daughter, wife of John Warnerd. I give to either of the two children of the said Mary, my daughter, namely: to Thomas Warner and Mary Warnore, 6 shillings, 8 pence apiece at the age of 18, or the day of marriage." The will distinctly refers to two sons named John, the younger being named executor. This will was proved on October 11, 1585. This will is given on page 9 of The Descendants of Andrew Warner by Lucien Warner and Josephine Nichols, 1919.
