John Reeve was born before 1655 (he was of age in 1675). He married Hannah Browne, daughter of Richard Browne and Hannah King, circa 1678.1 John Reeve married second after January 1699 Martha.2 John Reeve died on 15 December 1712 at Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York.2 John Reeve resided at Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York; where he is referred to in the land records from 1677 to 1707, fifteen times.2

His will was dated on 15 December 1712 proved 2 Apr 1713 at Southampton, recorded at New York. Names his wife, Martha; sons John, Elisha, Walter, Jonathan, Nathan, Samuel; daughters Hannah (now wife of Gideon Youngs), Abigail and Martha. Nathan and Samuel described as "my two younger sons." He bequeaths land in Cutchogue and Aquebogue to sons John and Elisha, and between Cutchogue and Toms Creek to sons Nathan and Samuel.

We identified the persons listed with John as his wife Hannah and his children (p114-5). Hannah is mentioned in the 1701 will of her brother Richard Brown which refers to meadow at Cutchogue"whichmyfather lent to his sister, late wife of John Reeve" . She was daughter of Richard &Hannah (King) Brown. She died January 26, 1698/9.

He died December 15, 1712 His will dated the sameYear, names his wife Martha as Executrix.

In the will he gives his occupation as weaver - he was also referred to as a weaver in the 1696/7 deed from the Brown brothers mentioned on the previous page. John names in his will his wife (2nd wife) Martha, sons
