John Satterthwaite

John Satterthwaite was born in Hawkshead as the son of Richard Backhouse Satterthwaite and Hannah Satterthwaite. He was an Iron Miner by trade, and moved to Barrow in Furness from Dalton in Furness somewhere before 1881, presumably for work. He can be found in two different boarding houses in both 1881 and 1891.

John Satterthwaite may have married a Sarah Bell somewhere in Ulverston in 1918, but the author is not certain if this is the correct John Satterthwaite, this being a common name in the area at the time.
