John Charles was the second of seven children {four sons & three daughters} born to Charles & Mary (Rennie) Schindler.
In the 1910 Federal Census, John was listed as a boarder living with Arnold Hubert & Anna M. (Braun) Pung in Calio, ND. Five years later, on 27 April 1915, he married Anna's younger sister, Elizabeth Braun at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Spring Hill, MN.
John ran successful grocery stores for decades; first in North Dakota, then in Spring Hill, MN; eventually moving to Regal, MN.
