    John was born in December 1743 at Hempstead Town, Nassau County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of John Searing III and Elizabeth (?). On 13 October 1744, John was christened at St. George's Anglician Church in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. John married Mary Prior on 5 January 1764 at the Quaker Meeting House, Westbury, Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.2 John & Mary had children: Mary [12/12/1764], John [2/11/1766], Amey [2/23/1768] & Phebe. John departed this life on Monday, 20 May 1822 at Hempstead Town, Nassau County, Long Island, New York, at age 78 years and 5 months.3
