NEW GERMANY - John Clarence Slauenwhite, 78, of New Germany, died Tuesday in Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in West Northfield, he was a son of the late Norman and Laura Slauenwhite. He worked 40 years as a mill worker and farmer.
He is survived by five step-daughters: Virginia (Mrs. Dennis Mader), New Germany; June (Mrs. Gerald Wentzell); Lilah (Mrs. Cyrus Langille), both of Watford; Shirley (Mrs. Florian Mousseau), Monica (Mrs. Earl Clark), both of Hamilton, Ont; a foster son, Richard, Chilliwack, B.C.; four sisters, Elmore, Tantallon; Beatrice Proctor, Florida; Margaret Leary, Brantford, Ont.; Phyllis Whynot, Halifax; three brothers, Eric, Bridgewater; Kendoll, Stanley Section; Everett, New Germany. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dora Langille; a sister, Helen; two brothers, Douglas and Joseph.
The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany, where funeral will be 2 pm Friday, Rev. Gary Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Epworth United Church Cemetery, New Germany; donations may be made to Epworth Church.
