John SMITH1 was born on Apr 7 1703 in Eastham, Mass..2 He died on Apr 2 1767 in Eastham, Mass.. The births of John and Elizabeth's children were recorded in Chatham, Mass., Vital Records, Pg. 93. "The teen children births were recorded from the account their father gave to me in writing, Nov. 22, 1752, entered by Paul Sears Town Clerk". See the Mayflower Descendent, Vol. XII, 1910, pg. 172

In his father's Will of Jan. 11, 1722, John is stated to be a minor of 19 yrs. and his father leaves guardianship to Richard Knowles of Chatham.
In his will dated 23 Oct. 1766 and proved Apr. 14, 1767, John is called a carpenter. He names his wife Lydia as executrix, sons Reuben, and Benjamin, daus. Elizabeth Rogers, Mehitable Baker and Rhonda Nicorsen and son Thomas.
