Pvt., Col. Huntington's Regt. (17th Continental of Connecticut), which engaged
in the battle of Long Island Aug. 27, 1776, in and near the Greenwood cemetery
and in the battle of White Plains, Oct. 28, 1776. Discharged in Nov. 1776 from
the hospital at Samford. He was in Col. Selden's Regt., 4th Battalion,
Wardsworth's Brigade, serving at New York and on Long Island; it was caught in
the retreat and panic of Sept. 15, 1776, when New York City was abandoned; the
term of the regiment expired Dec. 25, 1776.
