John Stovall Jr. and wife Mary Ann, sold 150 acres of land, part of a larger tract of 400 acres, granted John Wilkins by patent on 16 Aug 1756, for 15 pounds current money of Virginia, to Bazzel Brawner, County of Mecklenburg, Colony of Virginia, dated 11 Sept. 1765, Deed Book 1, page 190, Granville co., N.C.

"The Deed of Gift" from John Wilkins, Planter of Lunenburg co., Va. was found on Microfilm Reel No. 2, pp. 396-397, Deed Book 4, 1754-1757, Lunenburg co., Va. "for love and affection I bear unto Valentine Mullins and Mary Ann wilkins ... all land where Valentine Mullins now lives ... 250 acres to Valentine ... lower part containing 150 acres to Mary Ann Wilkins ... adjoining Tabor and Robert Easter", dated 5 April 1757, recorded 5 April 1757. Patent Book 33, p. 45, shows that John Wilkins was granted 400 acres on a branch of Butcher's Creek, adjoining Tabor, 16 Aug 1756. John Stovall, Jr. lived and died in Granville Co, N.C. His will is on file in Book S, p. 412, Probate Court, Granville Co., dated 12 June 1820, filed Nov. 1820. Mary Ann (Wilkins) Stovall died before 1820.

The will of John Stovall, Jr. is on file in Book S, page 412, Probate Court, Granville County, North Carolina dated June 12, 1820, filed NOvember 1820.

John, Jr and his wife, Mary Ann, sold 150 acres of land, part of a larger tract of 400 acres granted to John Wilkins by patent on August 16, 1756, for 15 pounds current money of Virginia, to Bazzel Brawner, County of Mecklenburg, Colony of Virginia, dated September 11, 1765, Deed Book 1, page 190, Granville County, North Carolina. This deed verfies the statement of Thoms W. Stovall, son of Wilkins Stovall of Granville, that Mary Ann was a Wilkins.

On August 6, 1765, John, Jr. bought fron his father, 210 acres of land lying on both sides of Jonathan Creek in Granville County, North Carolina for twelve pounds current money of Virginia (Deed Book H, page 33, Granville County, North Carolina).

The last deed on record before the death of John, Jr was made to his daughter, Phoebe Royster, of a negro girl named Bette; "natural love and affection which I bear and have for my daughter", dated September 13, 1820 (Box Z, page 169, Granville County, North Carolina).

John Stovall, Jr., his father, John Stovall, Sr., and John, Jr's brother, Bartholomew Stovall, are listed in Col. William Eaton's Regiment, Daniel Harris's Company, October 8, 1754, of Granville County, North Carolina. This regiment of 734 men represented all of the able bodied men, subject to military duty from Granville County, North Carolina at that time.
