Level Cross is about 14 miles north of Asheboro, the county seat, and about 12 miles south of the border with Guilford County.

John Swaim died in 1827 and his wife Elizabeth died in 1833. Both John and Elizabeth Swaim are buried in the Timber Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Randolph County, not far from the Guilford County Line 520 near Level Cross, North Carolina. John Swaim, Jr.’s Will is located in the Greensboro Library. John Swaim, Jr.’s bible was left in his Will to his grandson, Lyndon Swaim. As of 1976 this Bible was in the possession of Ira Marvin Swaim.
