About John Sweetser, I

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bucknum/P650Dl05.htm

John Sweetser was born July 21, 1700 in Charlestown, MA.

John Sweetser married Martha Green October 2, 1722.
Martha Green, daughter of Samuel and Martha Green, was born January 15, 1704.
When nearly 33 years old, John was the first Sweetser to leave the vicinity of Charlestown, Mass. He settled at North Yarmouth, Maine, apparently just before the permanent organization of the town in 1733.
On March 18, 1733 John Sweetser and his wife, Martha, were baptized at the First Church of North Yarmouth and Martha joined the church by public profession.
Martha Sweetser died May 14, 1736.
John Sweetser married Elizabeth Stevens November 16, 1738.
The house that John Sweetser built in 1740 near Poland’s Corner in what is now Cumberland, is still standing. Mr. Harlan H. Sweetser writes under date of December 31, 1937: ‘Recently I have been engaged in research work for the Town regarding the staus of some of the Town roads, and ran across a “Resurvey of the roads and landing places in the Town of North Yarmouth” by Edward King, Surveyor, in 1735. In it mention is made of a white oak tree standing by John Sweetser’s house in a description of a road on North Yarmouth Neck. This shows that previous to building the 1740 house, John owned one nearly three miles east of that location and near the old Burying Ground and site of the first church.
Jonathan, son of John Sweetser, was killed in the Louisburg Expedition, which said from Boston, March 24, 1745, under William Pepperell. Capitulation of the town, June 17, 1745.
John Sweetser died October 10, 1776 in North Yarmouth, ME.
Elizabeth Sweetser died November 1, 1785 (Source: Seth Sweetser and His Descendants: Philip Starr Sweetser, 1938.).
