(son of James Louis Thompson and Matilda Willis). Born August 8, 1844, Nashville, Lee County, Iowa.

Married: Lucy Maria Groves December 27, 1863, Kanarraville, Iron County, Utah (daughter of Elisha H. Groves and Lucy Simmons, pioneers 1848, Brigham Young company). She was born May 7, 1848, Winter Quarters, Iowa.

Their children:

1. John Orson born February 21, 1866, married Amanda Mead;
2. Brigham Samuel born October 25, 1868;
3. James Elisha born February 17, 1870, married Cyrena Young;
4. Joseph Wallace born February 23, 1872, married Helen G. Pratt September 20, 1901; married Rachel Wilson July 3, 1913;
5. William Llewellyn born October 12, 1874, married Adelaide Smith 1899;
6. Lucy Matilda born February 14, 1877;
7. Sarah Jane born October 17, 1879, married George C. Mead 1902;
8. George Franklin born May 1, 1882;
9. Arthur Alonzo born October 29, 1884;
10. Mary Frances born November 27, 1887, married George Avrett 1908.

Family resided Henrieville and Duchesne, Utah.
