John Thomson, CBE

He was the GM of the Roan Antelope Copper Mine in Zambia/Northern Rhodesia and afterwards a Board Member of RST (Roan/Rhodesian Selection Trust). Involved in the handover to independence of Zambia after the break-up of the Central African Federation... family rumour had it that he was considered for Governor of the colony, but this never happened. He was awarded an OBE and then (I believe) a CBE. After leaving Zambia some time after independence he lived in Lundin Links near Edinburgh in Scotland before moving to Knysna in South Africa.

He had a son Alan and a Daughter Jaqueline ("Jaqui")
