From find-a-grave:
John Vinton
- Birth: Mar. 2, 1650 Lynn Essex County Massachusetts, USA
- Death: Nov. 13, 1727 Woburn Middlesex County Massachusetts, USA
John Vinton, son of John Vinton (ca 1620-3 Aug 1664) & Anna [Vinton] (-3 Aug 1664), of Lynn, MA.
On 16 Aug 1677, at the age of 27, he married Hannah Green, who was 17. Hannah was the d/o Capt. Thomas Green & Rebecca Hills
"Forgeman", a worker in iron, possibly at the Lynn Iron Works.
He was a man of capacity and energy, as appears from the property that he acquired, and the position he held in society.
Removed to Woburn in 1695, purchasing considerable property in "current silver money"; properties, on the "kings's highway leading to Reading" and on both sides of the Mystic River, including a "Mansion-House, a barn, gardens, woodlands with "a Right of Pines", orchards and one eighth of a saw mill.
John died in Woburn, MA, on 13 Nov 1727; he was 77.

John bought several parcels of land in Woburn, MA, from Henry Merrow on 2 August 1695. Included was a "mansion house" and barn and a right in a sawmill. He is called a "forgeman" of Malden in the deed. Malden, MA, is very close to Saugus, where John surely worked in the iron works. He apparently had an interest of some sort in the works in Braintree, MA, as well. In 1709 he was involved in several land transactions with his Richardson neighbors in Woburn, but he is called a forger of Braintree. He was back in Woburn by 1720, when he and his wife Hannah sold their real estate interests to their son Samuel for 700 lbs. John wrote a will on 15 January 1721/1722 and died 5 years later in Woburn. That John had a kind of dual residence is supported by the fact that his son Samuel married a Braintree woman in 1721, but didn't move from Woburn to that town until 1729. Samuel was also an iron forger, and the iron works in both towns were undoubtedly the common link for the Vintons.
