I (LuElla Buton Seiler McWilliams ) went to Shelbbyville, Il to run records of the Waldin on April 19, 1996 this is what I found. John W. Walden was born Nov of 1818in Gallatin Co. ,Il. He was about nine when his family moved to Shelby co., Il. ;he married Nancy Grider on March 11, 1838. Nancy Grider born Jan. 1, 1822 in Monroe, Co., Ky.. The eldest child of Elder Tobias Grider and Sarah Jonson. John Walden farmed along Sand Creek in section 14and 22 on land near that of his father in law Tobias Grider. In 1860 John Walden worth of real estate $20,000. NancyGrider Walden died at home of cancer Oct. 20,1880. Nancy Grider and John W. Walden had 15 children. Ten year after the death of Nancy Grider Walden, John W. Walden married Elizabeth Hilsabeck widow of Cleatus S. Hilsbeck.Cleatus S. Hillsbeck was a brother of W. F. Hilsabeck Sr., husband of John<s Walden sister Eleanor ..Elizabethe Nichols Hilsabeck Walden was born 1833 daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Piermon) Nichols. ,
