About John David Waite
At the time of his father's death, he was living at and managing "Scrublands" near Condobolin.
In the Post Office Directory of 1900, J D Waite was listed as living at Kookaburragong, Condobolin. He had 2,700 sheep.
"MR. J. D. WAITE. Mr. John D. Waite, whose death took place at Orange recently, had been for 58 years a resident of the Condobolin district. He was 70 years of age. Born at Albury, he went to Condobolin with his parents In 1874, and settled on the south side of the Lachlan, adjoining his father's property at Kookaburragong .Later he purchased the property, Scrubland, which he owned at the time of his death. He formed a branch of the Farmers and Settlers' Association in Condobolin many years ago, and as its secretary attended conferences in Sydney on several occasions. He is survived by a son, a daughter and four grandchildren."
