23 November 1703: Discharge and Renunciation by John Walkinshaw, eldest lawful son to the deceased Gavin Walkinshaw, of that ilk factor for James Walkinshaw, his brother' in favour of William Hamilton of Orbieston, of Heritable Bond for £5,016 Scots over the lands and barony of Erskine, lying in the sheriffdom of Renfrew. 20 May 1721: Discharge and Renunciation by Robina Walkingshaw only daughter and heiress of the deceased John Walkingshaw of that ilk, with consent of John Walkingshaw of that ilk, her husband to William Earl of Glencairn, narrating that the Earl by his heritable bond dated 13 December 1712 obliged him to have paid to the said deceased John Walkingshaw his heirs etc the sum of 3000 merks of principal at Martinmas then next with 400 merks of penalty and annualrent of said principal sum till payment, and for further security the Earl obliged him to infeft the said deceased John Walkingshaw in an annualrent of £120 Scots as corresponding to said principal sum to be uplifted at Whitsunday and Martinmas yearly by equal portions furth of the lands of Davidston, Hightrees, Burnside and Mutehills etc lying in the parishes of Kilmacolm and Erskine and County of Renfrew And subsuming that the Earl had made payment of the said principal sum of 3000 merks and annualrent thereof preceding the date of said discharge Therefore the said Robina Walkingshaw as heiress served and retoured and Executrix confirmed to her said deceased father, with consent of her said husband discharges the Earl his heirs Executors etc of the said principal sum and annualrent etc and also of the said heritable bond etc. Witnesses Hugh Craufurd, Writer in Glasgow, William Somerville his servitor etc. Bishopton.
