The Old Wood Cemetery...is entirely grown up in timber and almost impossible to find unless you know where it is...buried here is John Wickersham, the son of old pioneer Daniel Wickersham. According to S. C. Turnbo, John Wickersham ran a store here in Yellville long before the Civil War. He died in 1858. Old Citizens have told me that this cemetery was orignally an Indian cemetery. The pioneer woods family originally owned the farm, hence the name. Berry, History of Marion County, p. 38.
