One correction about Uriah's first wife.She was Mary Morton, probable dau of John Throckmorton and Nancy Ann Wicker Davis.Mary first married John Williston, son of Thomas Williston.John died at sea in 1805.An 1805 gift deed (Book O) from Thomas Williston to his daughter in law Mary, wife of John Williston, indicates Thomas had been informed of his son's death.Uriah Gillikin married 6 Jul 1807 to John's widow Mary.It took until 1810 to settle the estate of John Williston, and along the way in 1806 there is a court petition which states Thomas Williston is the father of John and John died 1806 [sic], also states widow Polly now intermarried with Uriah "Gilkin."Reference NC State Archives, estate box CR 019.508.40
