About John Woodson (Wood) Jarrell
Wood named the Packsville post office on November 12, 1919 when he applied for a post office to be opened in his store what was once called Jarrold's Valley. Jarrold's Valley was named Packsville after Sylvester Pack a teacher who build homes during summer recesses. Wood later moved to Dry Creek and had a store on RT. 3 below the Ballard Family Cemetery at Dry Creek.
