To all Christian people to whom this present deed of Gift may come William Stark of Groton in ye county of New London in Conecticut Collony in New England Senior sendeth Greeting know ye that I ye abovesd William Stark for ye good will and kinder affection I bear to my son William Stark Junr and my Granchild Jonathan Stark both of Groton in ye County of New London aforesd have fully freely and absolutely given granted aliened ensealled and confirmed unto William Stark Jun aforesd a certain tract of land during his naturall life and then to my grandchild Jonathan Stark aforesd and his heirs forever laying in Groton and Fuffed? & bounded as followeth (viz) adjoining easterly to Thomas Park beginning at a maple tree at a dark swamp running northerly to land adjoining to Joseph Culver and Samuell Lamb by ye brook side to a maple tree then running west and by north east upon the brook to a black oake tree marked on four sides : from thence running by a l--- of rocks near South about eighty rods the by ye road to the first mentioned tr- by ye dark swamp it being thirty acres more or less together with all ye trees wood timber hearbidge? 1740?? Jonathan Stark m. Sarah Lacock [first son James b. ca. 1741] 1742. Estate of Jonathan Wright late of Burlington sold by Executors inc. 250A at Laomentong alias Black River in Morris Co., 20-30 acres cleared now in tenure of Aaron Stark. Pennsylvania Gazette 2 Sep 1742. NJ Archives XII:144.

1750. "Tract of Land with grist-mills in Bethlehem, adjoining land of Mr. Allen to be sold or let by Jonathan Stark in Bethlehem." Pennsylvania Gazette 6 Mar 1749/50. "To be sold or rented in Bethlehem, an improvement, containing 55 acres of land, with a very good grist-mill, that has constant flow in summer and winter, about 5 acres of meadow, and a young orchard, about 30 acres of cleared land, and 8 acres sown with wheat, it is very convenient for a store or tavern, lying on publick roads, adjoining to Mr. Allen's land; there is a tavern now kept on the place; the mill has all conveniences for merchant work. Reasonable credit will be given. Any person inclining to purchase, may apply to Jonathan Stark, in Bethlehem, about a mile from Delaware river. Jonathan Stark" [This would be Bethlehem Twp. in Hunterdon Co, NJ.]

1754. arrived from Kingwood Jonathan Start and Sarah Start his wife... The Kingwood church was organized in 1722. The church was known as Bethlehem (in Hunterdon County NJ) which was the name of the township where it existed. Kingwood twp. was taken out of Bethlehem twp. Mary B. 1763. "Knollton Church, Sussex Co. NJ, built in 1763. About the year 1754 ... arrived from Kingwood Jonathan Start and Sarah Start his wife... baptized at Kingwood were Joseph Collins, Mary Collins, Joseph Laycock ... These 14 persons were formed into a church, at Knollton, June. 12, 1763." The Kingwood church was organized in 1722.
