About Johnny Raymond Robinson

Rites for Johnny Raymond Robinson, 45 of 1231 E. Ardmore, was born in Manistee Michigan and brought to Phoenix when he was six months old, will be conducted at 9am tomorrow in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary ,the Rev. Wilson L. Adkins of Elsinore Southern Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mr. Robinson had been a truck driver for O'Malley and Ganaway Concrete Pipe Co. for 14 years. He died Wednesday in Northwest Hospital from injuries received while unloading pipe. Serving are his wife, Wanda Mae; a daughter Mrs. Barbara Lee Jones of Phoenix; his mother Emma Robinson of Phoenix, three sisters Mrs. Anna Todd of Phoenix, Mrs. Mamie Ramsey of Parker, Mrs. Lillie Nevit pf grand Canyon; five brothers, Robert M. cavaves, Charley and Harley Robinson all of Phoenix, George Robinson of San Francisco and Western singer Marty Robbins of Nashville, Tenn. A 46 year old Phoenix truck driver has died from injuries received when crushed by a 1,700- pound concrete irrigation pipe that rolled off his truck. John R. Robinson of 1231 E. Ardmore died yesterday of multiple internal injuries at Northwest Hospital. Deputy Sheriff Earl Harris said Robinson was standing beside a hydraulic lift at the rear of his semi-trailer truck when the pipe rolled off the truck and over him. Harris said the concrete pipe was 24 inches in diameter and 7 feet in length. Robinson , a brother to Western Singer Marty Robbins, was employed by O'Malley -Gannaway Concrete Pipe Co., 3450 N. 27th Ave. He was unloading the pipe at a county road project, at 67th Avenue and Sweetwater in North west part of the Valley.
