Adelsvapen Genealogies

Noble Family Stårck no. 233

Knighted 1632-08-12, confirm. 1634-09-10. Introduction 1635. Family extinct on the sword side in 1973.
The family descends on the mother's side from an old Värmland salvation family to Ramstad in Ny parish, whose oldest known member Anders Jonsson is mentioned in 1414. After Ramstad was sold by his grandson Ingemar Persson to the bishop's chair in Skara in 1513, this farm was restored by another branch of the family. A member of this, Olof Larsson till Ramstad, who lived in 1555 and was married to Barbro Ingelsdotter (Roos af Hjelmsäter), had a son Lars Olofsson. In addition to Ramstad Västbro, this owned Bro parish and others. farms in Värmland as well as Rynninge in Längbro parish and Näs (now Hjälmarsnäs) along with four farms in Våtsta in Stora Mellösa parish, all in Närke, but sold or exchanged all these farms except Ramstad and Västbro before the end of the 16th century. Lars Olofsson was knighted by King Johan on 23 August 1589 in Reval, was still a lieutenant in 1598, but before 1602 master of the horse for a standard horseman and also a court eunuch to Duke Carl, and died on April 23 (25?) 1606 and is buried in Nikolaikyrkan in Örebro, where his tombstone with his image and coat of arms carved is found. He was childless in his marriage to Estrid Olofsdotter Bååt, of an old Värmland salvation family, born 1553, died 1647. His nephews Nils and Jon Perssöner adopted the maternal uncle's coat of arms unchanged (a stork holding a snake in its beak). This was then recognized by the nobility in 1632 to Jon Persson, who was then dead, and his descendants, who after the coat of arms adopted the family name Stårck, which in older times was written Sturk or Sturck. He was childless in his marriage to Estrid Olofsdotter Bååt, of an old Värmland salvation family, born 1553, died 1647. This was then recognized by the nobility in 1632 to Jon Persson, who was then dead, and his descendants, who after the coat of arms adopted the family name Stårck, which in older times was written Sturk or Sturck. In 1776 the Pomeranian government councilor Carl Ludvig von Storck, who belonged to a German royal family, became a naturalized Swedish nobleman Stårck, under the pretext that he was a descendant of the Swedish family of that name through his great-grandfather Johan Storck, born 1617, died 1683, who is said to have been chancellor in Osnabrück. This is not found in the older genealogies of the knight's house, but was later inserted as the son of the progenitor Jon Persson Stårck. As a kind of proof, it is stated that "Johan Jönsson Stårck is found to have signed the cession of customs freedom among the nobility in 1644". However, this is a mistake, because in the said document it says: Jon Jönsson Lindh (Lind af Hageby). To identify the chancellor Johan Storck with the progenitor's real son, the lieutenant of the Älvsborg regiment Jon Stårck, is hardly possible. Jon Stårck is mentioned for the last time in the regiment's rolls at the muster in Vedum on January 23, 1644, but not in a list of the regiment's sick in Landskrona the same year or at the muster in Vedum on August 29, 1645. As it is highly unlikely that he burning war would have gone to Germany and settled there, and there is no evidence that after the muster in 1644 he would have been transported to another regiment, one should probably take for granted the knight's house genealogy's statement that he "died in Skåne". As far as we know, no proof of the relationship between the Stårck family and the German von Storck family has been provided. The last mentioned family, which at the elevation to royal status on 29 November 1753 received a completely different coat of arms from the Swedish one but not in a list of the regiment's sick in Landskrona the same year or at the muster in Vedum on 29 August 1645. Since it is highly unlikely that he would have gone to Germany and settled there in the midst of a raging war, and there is no proof because he would have been transported to another regiment after the muster in 1644, one should probably take for granted the knight's house genealogy's statement that he "died in Skåne". The last mentioned family, which at the elevation to royal status on 29 November 1753 received a completely different coat of arms from the Swedish one1 - the lineage from Sweden seems not to have been known at the time - still survives in large numbers in Germany, although not through the government councilor Carl Ludvig von Storck-Stårck, whose family branch died out in the last half of the 19th century.

Witnessed the autumn session in Laske district 1622-10-23. Died "just before" June 1623.3 The feat which, according to the knight's house genealogy, he must have performed in 1611 by driving the Danes out of Skara, which city they had already begun to set fire to, is nowhere mentioned. Incidentally, it was only in February. 1612, as the Danes threatened Skara.

Married

  • Married: Kerstin Christoffersdotter (Lilliehöök), died around 1640 (inheritance between the children was executed in 1641), daughter of Christoffer Jöransson ( Lilliehöök af Gälared och Kolbäck ) and Christina Pedersdotter ( Store ).

On July 3, 1634, he arrested with presentation of a. Axel Oxenstierna's recommendation for introduction, and on the 14th the council resolved that he should enjoy salvation on his estates and be respected as a noble, until the k. m. joined the government, but the council could not assign him any badge or letter against the form of government. However, the government already issued on 10 Sept. s. å. shield letter for him, which was dated 12 Aug. 1632, and on 24 Oct. In 1635, the family was introduced under number 206, which was later changed to 233.
