John Carle, son of Jacob Carle, lived on Long Hill, on the 500 Acre Tract, which was divided between him and his brother Jonas. Jacob Carle removed to the farm now owned by John Worth, on the north of Dead River. He then bought 500 acres, the one-fourth part of the Berkley Tract of 2000 acres, north of Passaic River, on which his grandson, Daniel Carle, now lives. Jonas Carle, son of Jacob, lived where his father did, and Anna Cooper, had 8 children.

Three daughters Anne, Sarah, and Lydia Carle, each $175.
Daughter, Elizabeth Vail, $80 over what she had since her marriage.
Moveable estate to be sold and proceeds to be decided equally between three daughters Anne, Sarah and Lydia, and two sons Jacob and Daniel.
Son, Jacob, that part of lands in Morris and Somerset Co. (being part of farm whereon I live) adjoining Elias Coryell, Ludlow Squire, David Coryell, David Kirkpatrick and adjoining Benjamin Smalley, Alexander Kirkpatrick, in Somerset Co. Son Daniel residue of lands lying in both counties as aforesaid.
If either should die before me, leaving no issue, his share to survivor.
Executors - son, Jacob Carle, Stephen Cooper, Benjamin Ludlow, and if I should die before youngest daughter is 18, they are to be guardians of her person and estate. Witnesses - John Williams, Robert Boyle, William Boyle Jr. Proved April 5, 1815, when Jacob Carle and Benjamin Ludlow Signed as Executors.
