About Jonas Tomlinson
Birth: unknown Death: 1693 Derby New Haven County Connecticut, USA
The son of Henry & Alice Tomlinson, he inherited land in Derby from his father's will. By 1675, he was living on Great Hill in Derby.
Jonas left a noncupative will. In June of 1693, William Tomlinson (aged 50) and Mary Washburn (aged 22) were deposed and testified that on November 27, 1692, they heard Jonas Tomlinson of Derby, Conn. say that at his death, he wanted his wife, Hannah to have full power to dispose of his lands at White Hills in Stratford & at Great Hill in Derby to pay his debts. Hannah was to have full discretion in distributing the estate left to the children when they came of age with the eldest to have a double portion. Administration of the estate was granted to widow, Hannah Tomlinson of Derby & Abraham Tomlinson, the eldests son on Feb. 4, 1722/3. On May 6, 1723, Abraham & Samuel agree to support their mother.
