Jonat Blaw, here treated, is the daughter of James Blaw of Castlehill and his wife Christine Schorthous. She was baptised on 28 January 1587-8, at Dunfermline in Fife, Scotland. Parish Register of Dunfermline: 87 Her baptismal record reads as follows: "Anno 1587 ….. Janvary ….. the 28 day ….. tht day James Blaw had a woman child born to him of his wyff Kirsten Schortes baptized & called Jonat". Spurious Pedigree

It has been erroneously claimed, in a number of pedigrees published on the internet, that Jonat Blaw, here treated, is the same person as Janet Blaw who was the wife of David Primrose in Culross although one pedigree published by Myheritage claims that her husband was Henry Primrose rather than David Primrose. Two of the pedigrees claim that Janet Blaw was born in 1494 and died in 1576. Another four claim birth dates between 1523 and 1525 and say that she died in 1574. MyHeritage As can be seen from the baptismal record reproduced above, this is quite impossible. It follows, therefore, that Jonat Blaw, here treated, is not the same person as Janet Blaw
