About Jonathan A Jones
Several online Family Trees list Jonathan's parents as Richard Jones and Martha Camp, and his wife as Mary Jones. Verification of these connections has not been found and new research is welcome.
Below is a transcription of documents relating to Jonathan's probate, he presumably died between 1 June, the census day, and October 1840, when his probate is first mentioned. He did not leave a will, dying intestate.

said was presented by the Clerk and approved by

Administrator of the Estate of Jonathan
Jone - deceased and made known to the
Court that June that there is assetts in his
[?] belonging to the Estate of his intestate
which is yet under term and that then is
nine legal to him and Representations of said
Estate. Whereupon it is brand by the
Court that the said William G Jones
administrator of aforesaid distribute
the assetts in his hand to said heirs and
legal Representations of the Estate of this
Jonathan Jones and upon them comply
ing with the law in such cases
provided in claiming what has been all
ready Raice to said heirs the sum of thirty
seven dollars - and on motion it's
further or annul by the court that if any
of said heirs or legal Representations of
their Guardian shall fail to apply
for their legacies, the said administrator
shall form the same of Interest at the
rate of Six percent per annum until
call for by said legates, and repent to
this court accordingly–

Samuel Critenden Raney is a minor
heir under the age of fourteen years
of Jonathan Jones deceased.
On motion it is thereupon ordered
by the court that Wm G Jones be and
is hereby appointed Guardian of the
said Samuel C Raney. And it is fur
ther ordered by the court that said
Guardian Enter into Bond to him
Ward in the same of twenty four
dollars further Bond was arranged
made filed and approved by the court.

this Court - a. d. 1845
It is therefore ordered by the Court
that the said William G Jones a former
Guardian of said Samuel C. Raney be
is hereby discharged from any liability
on his hand as said Guardian.
