About Jorge Súnico
In 1904, Jorge Súnico started working as a junior draftsman for the Bureau of Coast & Geodetic Survey (BCGS) under the American colonial government. That year, the bureau sponsored him as a pensionado to train under the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey in Washington, DC. His was a special case, as his course fell under the category "special instruction". In the US, he would be known as 'George Pedro Sunico'. He would continue working for the BCGS until at least 1914.
