About Joris Marlett
Known as "George". Was the son of Abraham Marlet and his second wife, Elizabeth, was born in Somerset County, New Jersey Apr 14, 1706 and was subsequently christened at the Raritan Dutch Reformed Church on the same day. George was later married in New Jersey to a woman named Rizpah Runyon. George , who was a yeoman farmer in Piscataway township, Middlesex County,, New Jersey, died there in 1779. His will, which was dated May 28, 1777, was subsequently probated on Feb 5, 1779 before the Middlesex County Court. Because George did not name his wife in his will, it is assumed that she probably had died prior to 1777. As far as George's children go, however, he mentions his daughters Mary and Jemima Marlet, his son Abraham and daughter in law, Elizabeth. Because George did not mention his son Vincent or daughter Elizabeth in his will, they may have also died prior to 1777.
