Jose Maria Chapa (0200) was born ca. 1663, the legitimate son of Juan Bautista Chapa (0100) and Beatriz Olivares de Trevino. Jose Maria Chapa married Nicolasa Fernandez (0201) in 1694. Nicolasa is the daughter of Captain Gregorio Fernandez and Maria Gonzalez. Maria Gonzalez is the daughter of Diego Gonzalez and Maria Ochoa. Marriage Investigations p-135.
On September 12, 1697, he married Josefa Sanchez de la Barrera (0200), the daughter of Alferez Thomas Sanches and Maria Barrera, in the Cathedral of Monterrey [M601497-0355]. Maria Barrera is the daughter of Melchor Barrera and Mariana Nabarro. Marriage Investigations p-164.
From his second marriage he had two children:
Jose Maria Chapa (0200) married Maria Francisca de Ochoa (0207) in the Cathedral of Monterrey on June 27, 1717. [M601497-0767] There was one child born of this union.

Nicolasa Fernandez is the daughter of Captain Gregorio Fernandez and Maria Gonzalez. Maria Gonzalez is the daughter of Sargent-major Diego Gonzalez and Maria Ochoa. Nicolasa is the paternal great-grandaughter of Captain Blas de la Garza and Beatriz Gonzales.
