Jose Antonio Quintero was Lieutenant of the Militias in Sancti-Spiritus, Cuba. During the British attack on La Habana in 1762, he was sent, by Sargent Major of the Militias, Diego de Canizares, to the Castillo de Jagua (Cienfuegos?) to ask Commander Juan de Castilla for rifles and gunpowder.
