(1). JOE VOGLER DIES IN HOSPITAL: --- Joe Vogler died at the Central State Hospital last week and his remains were brought to his home at Cooper for burial Sunday.

Mr. Vogler was injured when a horse threw him at his home some years ago and he has since been an invalid. He was a native of Pennsylvania, he came here with his brothers, John and Gus about 50 years ago and engaged in the oil business. He married Miss Augusta Hurt of Cooper, who with two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Cross and Mrs. Ab. Stearns survive, a third daughter, Mary, a twin of Mrs Stearns died in infancy. (2). VOGLER: Joseph Andrew Vogler, age 73, passed away at the Danville Hospital on October 15, 1948. He was born on September 14, 1875 in Monroe County, Ohio, being the son of Valentine and Mary Hunkler Vogler. Brc/obit. 10/28/1948.

At the age of 16 he professed faith in Christ and united the Roman Catholic Church.
He came to Wayne County in 1903 and engaged in the oil industry, who with his brothers comprised the firm of Vogler Brothers. His genial disposition soon won him mamy friends among the business men and all with whom he came in contact.
On February 27, 1906 he was married to Augusta Hurt, who survives him. To this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Tom Cross and Mrs. Ab Stearns, the other daughter dying in infancy.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Anna Daugherty, of Akron, Ohio, and one brother, John G. Vogler of Centralia, Illinois.
For the greater part of his life he was confined to a Hospital following a serious accident which occured shortly after his marriage. ... BRC/Obit clipping, Wayne Co. Outlook, 10/28/1948.
