About Joseph Gerhard Aastad
Joseph Gerhard Aastad was born July 20, 1915, near Fergus Falls, to Ole and Martha Aastad. He grew up in Aastad Township, near Fergus Falls and attended school there.
He and his father lived at Wall Lake and Staples, Minn., before he settled in Folden township in 1940. He lived and worked in Folden doing primarily custom trucking for area farmers. He sold his truck and retired in 2000.
He died 89 years old, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at TriCounty Hospital in Wadena. He was preceded in death by his parents, leaves no family and is survived by his friends and neighbors.
Service with clergy Rev. Roger Hanson was held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Folden Lutheran Church, rural Vining.
