Joseph Lapointe

Paul Jerome Lareau: The following note was emailed to me, and might be something to add to any discussion of Joseph's parentage.

"I was looking at your website and found that you have Joseph Audet dit Lapointe married to Marie Anne Therrien to be correct. However Joseph's father is not Pierre, it is Pierre's brother Joseph. That is a very old error by many genealogists (including Red Drouin). According to Guy St Hillare a genealogist who did research in France on the Lapointes of the Bergoinnes (not at all related to the Audet dit Lapointe or Nicola Audet) found documentation stating that Joseph the 6th son of Nicolas is the father of Joseph husband to Marie Anne Therrien.
