Joseph Bovell was born in Ireland.
Joseph BOVILL/BOVELL was the son of James Bovill/Bovell (abt.1820-) and Eliza Spencer (abt.1820-), [1] [2] born on 31 Oct 1839 in Portglenone, County Antrim, Ireland. [3]

Joseph married Elizabeth 'Jane' Burnside (1829-1909) on 31 Oct 1857 at Ballymena in County Antrim, Ireland. [4] Jane was the daughter of Henry & Mary Ann Joseph (Ireland). [1]

Joseph and Jane had their first child William James about 1858 whilst in Ireland, and then they emigrated aboard the 'West Australian' which arrived on 20 Oct 1859 in Western Australia.

Joseph employed 6 ticket of leave men from 1860 to 1876 including 2 woodcutters. Later became the proprietor of the "Ship Hotel" in Busselton. Had 2 Rockingham Town Lots 1873. Pt. owner of Paragon (cutter) 1882. Police Constable Bunbury 1867. Nominated brother James as an assisted migrant . C/ E. [1]

Joseph died age 64 in 1903 at Busselton in Western Australia. [2] Joseph was buried at the Busselton Pioneer Cemetery in Busselton, Western Australia. [3]
