About Joseph Brewer
His name was Brewer, not Brewster. Anne Arundel County and environs boasted a number of Brewers but few if any Brewsters.
Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records 1763-1767; Liber TT {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 286. At the request of Richard Williams the following Deed was recorded September 8, 1764 I Richard Williams of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, planter in consideration of the love and affection I have and do bear unto my daughter Mary Brewer the wife of Joseph Brewer, planter as also in consideration of the sum of 5 shillings sterling money of Great Britain and for divers other good causes and viable considerations me hereunto moving do give by these presents during the term of her natural life and after her decease unto my grandson Joseph Brewer forever two parts of my land which I formerly purchased of Thomas Gatewood, "Wilson's Enlargement" and "Wilson's Fork" containing 113 acres; also one other tract which I formerly purchased of Ninian Beall, Jr. called "Beall's Point" containing 40 acres and beginning at the beginning tree of Simon Nicholls land; provided nevertheless that if my grandson Joseph Brewer should die without issue or before he shall inheirit the above land then in such case the above land and premises shall call to the right and estate of my grandson Henry Brewer. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this August 25, 1764, Richard Williams in the presence of and acknowledged before Thomas Williams, Robert Tyler
