About Joseph Chamberlain

Children of William Chamberlain and second wife, all born in Hull:

7. Joseph, born about 1665

It is suggested that any reader of these notes refer to the "Media" tag and open that for a full compliment of documentation about this Joseph. The primary genealogical document is the one labelled 3DCC, which was prepared by the professional genealogist David Conrad Chamberlain. The secondary document labelled as 3GC, was prepared as supplemental information after DCC passed away. The appendixes also provide significant, but background details, and they are all recommended reading.

Joseph and his siblings have all been erroneously reported to be the children of William and Sarah (or even Sarah Jones). This is incorrect, as neither one of the two wives of Joseph's father William have ever been identified by name. (Could not be the son of Rebecca Chamberlain and William Chamberlain. There were many other Chamberlain families in the area at the time.

Joseph Chamberlain was born in 1665 at Hull, Suffolk County, Mass, the Son of William Chamberlain and his second wife (name unknown).

He married Mercy Dickinson (1668–1735) 8 June 1688 in Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony. They had 9 children: (refer to the attached documents in the "Media" section.)

William Sarah Joseph Jr Elizabeth John b. 4 March 1700 m. Eunice Johnson Benjamin Freedom

He died 7 August 1752 in Colchester, New London, Connecticut, He is buried in the Old Parish Cemetery, Colchester Burying Ground, Colchester, New London, Connecticut.
