Joe passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by loving family on Monday, April 15, 2013. As a Bellarmine High School graduate, loyal parishioner of St. Charles Church, member of Knights of Columbus, WWII veteran, and owner of New Judnich's, Joe was constantly making new friends and always treated those he met with treasured stories while sharing his infamous dimple-clad smile with them. Though Joe had great pride in his Italian heritage and his farmers market-worthy home garden, nothing brought him more pride than his forever- expanding family and their many accomplishments. Joe treasured his family and always had a good laugh from retelling stories of his mischievous childhood and also those of his ten children. Joe is preceded in his death by his wife of 62 years, Betty, whom he never stopped courting since he laid eyes on her in the second grade. Joe is survived by his 10 children, Kathy (Bob), Dorothy, Bill (Susie), Maribeth (Joe), Rick (Melanie), Ron (Carol), Suzzette, Tim (Jennifer), Tami, and Michelle, his 20 grandchildren, his 8 1/2 great-grandchildren, his brother, Richard, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, loyalty, quick wit, and his comforting presence. Though Joe's passing is a great loss to his family, they find great comfort in knowing he will finally be back in the arms of his beloved Betty. He will forever be remembered. A viewing will be held at 9:30am on Thursday, April 18, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am. Both services will be held at St. Charles Church, 880 Tamarack Ave, San Carlos. Burial will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Northern California Chapter of the Special Olympics.
