James Hager was the brother of Barthena and in the Family of Philip and Sarah Hager as recorded in "History of the Hager Family in Virginia and West Virginia."
Per Benjamin Hager, Book: Boone County, West Virginia History 1990: "James Hager, son of Phillip Hager Jr., was born around 1789 and came to Cole River with his father where he patented land on Six Mile Creek. In 1843, he purchased two tracts from his father on Spruce Fork. He later had land surveyed and lived on Mud River. James was married twice and the name of his first wife is unknown. He married 2nd, Sarah Pauley. After Lincoln County was formed in 1867, they lived in Duval District of that County. James died between 1870-1880 and his wife, Sarah, lived until after 1880. James had a total of sixteen children. By his first wife, he had a son and daughter, Joseph who married Rachel Pauley and possibly Mary who married David McCloud."

Permelia E Hager b. 11 Aug 1857 d. 26 Dec 1923 buried in this cemetery married (John A Stowers).
