Obituary
Funeral services for Joseph Thurman Hamilton, 74, of 1120 West 7th St., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wise Funeral Home chapel. He died in a Bonham hospital Thursday, Jan 26, 1961, following an illness of several months.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Bob Rowe, pastor of the Boyd Baptist church, and the Rev. T. R. Hawkins, pastor of the Windom Baptist church.
Interment will be in the Leonard cemetery with Walter Wright, Gene Reed, Hubert Coonrod, A. T. Melson, O. R. McKissack and Tommy Richards serving as active pallbearers. Named as honorary pallbearers were Charles Thompson, John Pilliod, Bill Hackney, C. W. Bond, Frank Patton and Emzie Towery.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ethel Hamilton of the home, in Bonham; eight sons, Joe B. Hamilton of Denison, J. M., J. T., Jr., and Drummer Hamilton, all of Bonham. Eli and Colvin Hamilton, both of Oklahoma City, Daniel Hamilton of Downey, Calif., and Sgt. William Hamilton of Larsen Air Force Base, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Coonrod of Bonham; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.
