Obituary- Times West Virginian 01/21/2010:
Joseph Harold Higginbotham, 82, a resident of Nella's Personal Care Home in Elkins, formerly of Mannington, Logansport community, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 2010) at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins .He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Mannington, a son of the late Luther Lee and Mary Elizabeth Carroll Higginbotham.
Mr. Higginbotham was a lathe operator for the Charles Phillips Tool Co. in Mannington and Protestant by faith.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Yost Higginbotham; his stepson, Calvin Yost; three brothers, Okey Lewis, Marshall Lester and Clay Higginbotham; and four sisters, Lulu Higginbotham, Carrie and Sarah Burnfield, and Rosa Spencer. Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home, 500 East Main St., Mannington, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Private interment will be in Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
