Ref.: March 7, 1736/37, Wills & Deeds, Surry Co., Va. pg. 763 - 765, Joseph Harwood purchased 100 acres in the Poplar Swamp from Robert Wallace, witnessed by John Myrick, Owen Myrick, and Robert Bullock. One theory is that Joseph's wife Sarah's maiden name is Myrick and these are relatives. However this is unproven at this time (1999)
