Joseph Hitchcock was born Jul 23 1686 in Quinnipiac (East Haven), New Haven, Connecticut. His father was Eliakim Hitchcock [1] [2] and Sarah Merrick. [3] He was baptized Jul 8 1688 in New Haven, Connecticut. [4]

Joseph married 1st Rebecca [4] [3] Thomas. She died in 1750 and was buried in St. Paul's churchyard, Norwalk. [3]

He acquired land in Norwalk, Connecticut as early as 1710 and continued to acquire property there until his death. [3]

Joseph married 2nd Jane [4] who survived him. [3]
