About Joseph Kaufman
Newspaper Obituary-St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis, Missouri, 7/1/1937, Thursday, Page 4: Joseph Kaufman of 5794 Kingsbury Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in which his companion, Sam Berman was killed. Sam Berman was 24, lived at 816 Eastgate Avenue, University City, Saint Louis, Missouri and died before he could be taken to the hospital. Joseph Kaufman and Sam Berman were employed in shoe stores of Edison Brothers Stores, Inc. in California. Kaufman was assistant manager at San Diego and Herman was employed at Los Angeles. There were returning to St. Louis when the accident occurred. Kaufman was survived by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
